Taking place in the once abandoned, now slowly reviving amusement park in the north of the Plänterwald in Treptow-Köpenick, the one-day event builds on fantasy writer Ray Bradbury’s famous quote, “Insanity is relative. It depends on who has who locked in what cage.” In this case, the keys are held by the queer-feminist interdisciplinary platform and its motley crew of musicians, performers, producers, and DJs who will overrun the decaying GDR-era funfair with extreme encounters of music from the margins. Centered around the remaining iron support structure of former fast-food restaurant, the Mero Hall, the temporary outdoor event space and installation by architecture collective Modulorbeat—called “Blue Hour”—will host a program of experiments in techno, noise, goth, breakcore, rap, pop, and more. Artists like Elvin Brandhi, Gray, Hüma Utku, Maria Metsalu, Masma Dream World, and MUXXXE give a glimpse into some of the most fierce and deranged creative practices in music today, not only reclaiming a space for exploring psychological deviations from the norm but allowing visitors an insight into the inner workings of worlds far beyond of their own.
